Watton travelled to Crusaders to compete in this merit league fixture, with a very heavy pitch this promised to be a hard fought contest.
From the kick off Watton proved to be the stronger outfit, soaking up the early pressure from the home side. With 10 minutes played Watton possession on half way saw a clever double miss pass to Walker who disected Crusaders defence to make an early score, converted from Turnbull for a 7 - 0 lead.
More of the same from Watton as the forwards made steady progress up the pitch with Oakley and Everitt making hard yardage into the 22, with a penalty awarded for hands in the ruck, Turnbull took a quick tap and danced through an unorganised defence to double the score converting his own touchdown 14 - 0.
Crusaders made a better fist of things up to the half time whistle with some good possession although never looked like converting this into points; Watton defence proved to be organised and easily repelled the home sides efforts.
The second half saw Watton step up a gear and dominate play as the ball was pushed wide at every opportunity, with the Watton backs being far superior Thurston showed his pace on the wing running in from half way, Turnbull converting 19-0.
Again the Watton forwards drove the home side back into the 22, with Miller at 10 releasing Walker and Sherrell to draw the defence and slick hands released Thurston to double his tally, unconverted for a 26-0 lead.
No rest bite for the home side as McMullen and Barre bullied there way up the park, with Hynd carrying strongly bringing the play into the 22, a penalty for Watton saw quick thinking scrum half Omer spin the ball to Walker who crashed through two tackles to cross the line, Turnbull converting 33-0.
With time ticking away Turnbull kicked a sublime penalty from 30 metres to close out the game with Watton running out well-deserved victors 36-0.
